My background as a trauma survivor, combat aviator, and recovering adult child of dysfunction and addiction equips me to uniquely connect with others in their pain and healing. The unfortunate absolute of problematic relational distress, trauma, or addiction is we must lean into the pain before we can live in freedom from the past. Distraction and avoidance only provide temporary relief from the reality of your experience, relational distress, or past problematic experiences.

My therapeutic approach is strength based. It affirms unconditional positive regard, acceptance, and non-judgment for each individual. Attachment theory frames his view of relational wounds and needs both in childhood and adult relationships. Eric sees most dysfunctional patterns of behavior as an overdeveloped part of self; once a very resilient and resourceful tool for survival has become problematic, and seemingly overwhelming. Health involves the physical, emotional, spiritual, and relational. Eric enjoys helping individuals and couples experience and practice a true expression of emotional connection and needs with the people they feel safest with.

life experience

My passion for helping others find peace with themselves and others was born of personal experience growing up in a broken and consistently un-repaired family. My life experience has gifted me with the capacity to hold a safe place with clients, refraining from judgment while attuning to the truth of their experience.
